Kèr Líhtài̊g (/lɪ̞t/ /ˈəi̘g/ [mosquito] [antique]) is a subtropical Town located in Lodupi Dutchy, Ftiríhwèsag Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Kèr Líhtài̊g is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Líhtài̊g was founded by Më̂f̄ Vú̄shīs 'Buzz Chanel' Séchvéch Mp̪f̄shīb Nīń̄s Hooley, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Kèr Líhtài̊g has a yearly average temperature of 30°C (86°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a blistering 34°C (93°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 27°C (80°F). Kèr Líhtài̊g receives an average of 179 cm/y (70 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Kèr Líhtài̊g covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 2226 m (7303 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Kèr Líhtài̊g was founded durring the late 15th century in fall of the year 1367, by Më̂f̄ Vú̄shīs 'Buzz Chanel' Séchvéch Mp̪f̄shīb Nīń̄s Hooley. The establishment of Kèr Líhtài̊g suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Kèr Líhtài̊g which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Kèr Líhtài̊g was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Líhtài̊g is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Kèr Líhtài̊g is buildings folow an organic layout of spacious packed earth streets whihch gives the town a shape simmilar to a tree, if one views its streets from above. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks, spikes, and fences to provide some protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. Unfortuantly, these minimaly adiquite are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

Something in your gut tells you that you may be unwelcome in Kèr Líhtài̊g. The town seems like it’s not showing you the side of itself it would show to others. People mostly ignore your questions. Many folks ask you to leave their establishments, even before you’ve walked inside them. You should probably listen to them, as every time you’re asked to leave the person asking you to leave has referenced the town’s patron divine in some way. The little voice in the back of your mind that tells you when you’re in danger feels like it’s just glaring at you and muttering about how stupid you are for even remaining in town.

Civic Infrastructure

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Kèr Líhtài̊g's natural decorations nor waterways.

Kèr Líhtài̊g has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Kèr Líhtài̊g has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Kèr Líhtài̊g's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used makes use of a large oblong hall or building with double colonnades and a semicircular apse and symmetrical central-plan, resulting in buildings with a square central mass and four arms of equal length. Decorative features included domed rooves, arches, soaring spaces, and sumptuous decoration: marble columns and inlay, mosaics on the vaults, inlaid-stone pavements, and sometimes gold coffered ceilings.

Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is recurring in Kèr Líhtài̊g.

The Nochlean near Kèr Líhtài̊g are known to be quite timid.

Kèr Líhtài̊g's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves embarking on a group pilgrimage to channel Abjuration energies of tier 1 via singing.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century Pond Lugano began to boil, and released a thick toxic cloud from beneath its waters which brought great calamity to the entire nation, killing every person and animal in its path which could not escape the cloud. Oddly, the plants of the region flourished in the years after the disaster. The disaster brought an end to people, livestock, and buildings. The disaster is referred to as the Anguish Wind.
